The only candidate to answer why...

Like many of you, I have been dissatisfied with our representation. I believe the job of any elected official is to represent the people. A representative cannot do that if they aren't in tune with the needs and wants of the community.
I vote in every election. However, it’s rare that I’m excited about a candidate, rare that I have faith they will somehow represent the best interests of the community. Too often those running are tainted by special interest groups funding their campaigns. Too often we must choose from professional politicians who are jumping from office to office with the same empty promises. Too often as voters we are faced with choosing the “least worst.” I’m running because it’s time for a change. It’s time for the hard working residents of the 15th District to have a representative who interacts with them, who listens to them and who speaks as their voice with honesty and integrity.
Where are the women?
Los Angeles is the second largest city in the country and it's possible that soon there will be no voice for women on the City Council. There are 15 seats on the Council and only one is occupied by a woman. Soon every decision made by the Council, including where to allocate city funds could be decided solely by men, without input by a woman.
I'm tired…
I'm tired of the seemingly endless glossy fliers filling my mailbox daily. I'm tired of the empty promises politicians make just to get elected. I'm tired of politicians using elected offices to benefit themselves and the special interest groups that spent huge amounts of money to help them get elected. It's time to stand up and realize we don't have to accept the status quo. We CAN make a change for the better.
If you're tired too, vote for Rebecca on November 8!
